Areas where it's most common to see these types of products used in public areas such as high streets, shopping centres, car parks and public transport etc. The effectiveness of graffiti barriers depends on several variables such as the integrity of the wall or other substrate prior to application, the weather extremes in the vicinty (such as high or low UV) and the method of applying the material but in general, graffiti barriers do a decent job of prevention.

For long-existing or freshly laid graffiti that needs removing, graffiti removers are normally liquids, gels or aerosol products specifically designed to effectively remove graffiti from various surfaces. Formulated to dissolve and/or break down paint, marker pen and other inks commonly used in graffiti without affecting or damaging the underlying surface.
