In 1881, Hermann Otto founded a company in Berlin to manufacture window putty. Since the early 1960s, Otto-Chemie have been developing and producing silicone sealants, adhesives based on silicone, polyurethane, silane-terminated polymers (hybrid) and acrylates within their product range.

Starting with a small holding of selected colours from the staple products in their range, in 2016 County Construction Chemicals Ltd. were chosen to represent Otto-Chemie in the UK as their main distributor.
